Sagaing
Sagaing (Kaung Hmudaw)

Sagaing is situated on the western banks of Ayeyarwaddy River, 21km southwest of Mandalay. The Sagaing Hills are best known as a religious retreat and a centre for Buddhist studies and meditation. Kaung Hmudaw, an enormous dome- shaped Pagoda, Soon Oo Ponnya Shin Pagoda, Umin Thonzeh (thirty caves) Pagoda and Ywataung village, home of the silversmiths' guilds are also places of interest.

Myeik Archipelago

Myeik is one of the most beautiful picturesque coastal cities in Myanmar, comprises of over 500 gorgeous islands. The Sea Gypsies live on boats during the dry season nd remain on land during the rainy season. Their ways of life and customs are so characteristic and unique that a Salone traditional festival will be launched with an aim to attract international tourists as well as to promote marine eco-tourism around the islands in the Myeik Archipelago.

Pyin Oo Lwin

Pyin Oo Lwin (May Myo)

Pyin Oo Lwin is over 1,000 metres above sea-level and has a delightfully cool and pleasant weather all year round. It is about 69km up hill from Mandalay. It is famous for its colonial style houses and a hill station. Close to Pyin Oo Lwin are several natural attractions, National Kandawgyi Garden, Pwe Kauk Waterfalls and Peik Chin Myaung Cave, with many Buddha Images.

Rachine (Mrauk Oo)

The ancient capital of Rachine Kingdom in 15th century, is known for its old temples with wall paintings of Indian cultural influence. The unusual architecture of the local Pagodas, built of sandstone blocks, are also evidence of the region's long-standing cultural autonomy. Shittaung Pagoda, Dukkanthein Pagoda, Andawthein Shrine, Lak-Kauk-Zay Monastery and Museum of Mrauk Oo are famous.




Shan (Pindaya)

Pindaya lies at an altitude of 1,200 meters surrounded by hill tribe villages. Its main attraction is the natural limestone cave that branches out widely, displaying more than 8,000 Buddha images made of wood, marble, lacquer, brick, stone and bronze. The collection of these images in such a setting is unique and well worth seeing. Pindaya also features the picturesque Boutaloke Lake, beautifully set amongst huge and trees. A major handicraft industry in Pindaya is hand-made paper umbrellas manufacturing.


Sagaing (Mingun)

Mingun is located about 11km upriver from Mandalay on the western bank of Ayeyarwaddy River. It is town
well-known for its 90 tons "Mingun Bell", the biggest ringing bell in the world and Mingun Unfinished Temple,Mya Thein Dan Stupa.

Elephant Camp

There are Two Famous Elephant Camps, "Myaing Hay Wun" Elephant camp that is easily accessible from Yangon city and " Pho Kyar" Elephant camp that is located on the Bago Yoma mountain range.Myaing Hay Wun has wild Elephant , Barking Deer, Monkeys and other Mammals.In both elephant camp, Elephant riding, watching the elephant shows and study of the demostrations of logging with elephants and observation of life of the elephant keepers can be made.The best time to go is from October to May.
